the search for the perfect venue

she said:

we initially wanted the Filipinas Heritage Library in Makati to be the venue for the wedding because i've always enjoyed the idea of being surrounded by books.  maybe the library-idea can be used at another event, the engagement perhaps (*hint-hint)..  hahaha!

anyway, the reason we had a change of heart was because we did an ocular visit to FHL last january 22 and sad to say, we weren't impressed.  it was beautiful alright but we didn't expect it to be small.. although their ad stated that the courtyard could accommodate 150 guests, we wanted some place bigger.

and so the search for the perfect venue resumed.

we checked out our research list and we came up with 3 possible locations: the mango farm, la huerta estate and velada estate.  we then scheduled the ocular visits.

first stop was the mango farm.  it was ok, the place was huge but the AE we spoke to, never smiled the whole duration of our visit.  it affected the whole visit. poker-faced AE.  to think, that the place was being prepared for a wedding that day and the place looked beautiful.  but ultimately, we did not feel the 'this-is-it' feeling.

next stop was la huerta estate.  it was an unassuming old house but we fell in love with the place.  we were greeted warmly by sir anton lorenzo, their family owns the place.  he showed us around and though there were no decorations and dried leaves scattered about, the place still exuded old-world charm.  it was like we were transported in the olden times in the province.  sir anton was also very accommodating to our requests.  we will be posting supplier ratings after the wedding but for now, this will do.

we didn't even go to the other option because we were set.

we found our venue.  and it was perfect.
